Extra: Why Don't We Do Our H/W?

The following are 13 reasons as to why students don't do their homework. Your job is to choose 10 of these reasons and explain; in one-two sentences each, what you can do to overcome these issues.

For example, the first reason given is that H/W is boring. To overcome this, you may complete the H/W in ten minute blocks, with a five minute break in between to do something that you enjoy doing.

You need to complete this work as a WORD document on your laptops. You can then cut and paste your completed work as a comment below. You will need to have this completed by the end of the week.

IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE THIS WORK, AND IT IS DEEMED THAT YOUR REASONS AS TO WHY YOU HAVEN'T COMPLETED THIS WORK ARE UNSATISFACTORY, YOU WILL NOT ATTEND LUNA PARK ON PICNIC DAY.

REASONS

It's boring

They don't understand the instructions OR what to do

It's too difficult

It's too easy

They could understand the language but couldn't think of any ideas

It's not their priority

They just forgot OR forgot exactly what they had to do

They don't find time OR have bad time management

It's a minor rebellion

They don't see the point

Doing homework seems childish

They lack a place where they can do it in peace and quiet

They lack equipment

Year Meeting: 29/10/2010

Year Meeting Friday 29/10/2010

Hi Boys

As a cohort, we strive together to adhere to the teachings of St John Baptist de la Salle and all those who follow in his footsteps. In 2010, in addition to GOING THE EXTRA MILE and following the school crest of COMMITMENT, CONFIDENCE, SUCCESS, we as a year group have implicitly followed our own mantra of RELIABILITY, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY.

Work with a partner to complete the following activities. They will help us further our understanding of these concepts as we move towards the end of 2010 and the new challenges that await us together in 2011.

Your HR teacher will check your completed work during HR on Tuesday next week. Those of you unable to present your completed work at this time will miss out on the practical activities next Friday, and may place their opportunity to attend Luna Park in jeopardy.

Click on the links below to access the activities. You can complete them in your English books or through WORD on your laptops. Those of you choosing the latter option will need to print off the completed work and stick into the BACK of your ENGLISH books.

Sir
